Skills, Inc. provides you with options on how you want to receive your training. Pick the best option that works for you!
In-House Work Adjustment
If you are interested in working in a manufacturing setting, the construction industry, or need help increasing your production ability so that you can be an exceptional value to an employer, then consider this option.
This program is designed for those who like to work with their hands. For your training period, you will get paid to work in our wood shop builds grade stakes, pallets, shipping containers, produce boxes, and many other products for sale. Work hours are 8:30 to 4:00 four days per week with two 15 minute breaks and an hour for lunch. No prior experience necessary. We will provide any training you need and make sure you can do the job SAFELY! Accommodations are available.
On The Job Training
If you already have a job, have a job offer, or already have all the skills necessary to begin work , then consider this program.
This program is designed to help you receive the training needed to be successful on the job. The Skills, Inc. Job Placement Team will:
Help you through the hiring process.
Work with your employer.
Be a personal trainer to help you learn your job duties.
Ensure you have any and all accommodations necessary.
Support you all the way!
If you are interested in working in a warehouse, stocking, customer service, or clerical field, then consider this option.
This program is a pilot program in partnership with the Food Bank of the Albemarle and NCDHHS NCDVRS. It is designed to help you learn while giving back to your community. This program is designed to give you practical knowledge and experience while you learn how to become a better worker.
